At 16 all children of the Realm were conscripted into public service for two years. The ideal was away from family they would acquire self-confidence and learn a trade or have an idea of what occupation to pursue after their return home. Connie saw the draft as her escape from a life she didn’t consent to and saw no other way to escape her confinement but through the draft. She was determined to make the most of her two years and disappear from those that felt it was their duty to return her to a life she had no intention of returning to.

In the sequel to ‘Merkers’ Outpost,’ Lady Alexandra and Lt. Vanster arrive on Arnica in the middle of a hostile take over. Their assignment was to find some of the hostiles from their side of the galaxy and find a way to neutralize them in accordance to the planets laws. Major Zohra finds herself landing in the middle of a lake at a monastery with a Sha’Kar to guide her to understanding the rules of a honorable warrior by Arnica’s standards. When their paths cross again, there will certainly be fireworks…not to mention a certain dance.
